Why mid-engine? First, this puts the weight of the engine over the rear driving wheels to enhance traction. With the engine located behind the cockpit, there’s more forward visibility. And with the seats positioned closer to the front wheels, the driver and passenger are located at the car’s center of gravity.

THE SOUL OF THE STINGRAY.
The heart of the all-new Stingray is a 6.2L LT2 aluminum small block V8 engine. Now in fifth-generation form, it is more compact yet more powerful: 490 standard horsepower and 630 Nm. of torque. The standard Z51 Performance Package adds 5 more horsepower and 7 more Nm of torque, good for 0 to 100 kmph in under three seconds.
